We’ve actually been avoiding any coverage of this movie even though everyone at Fancore is pretty freaking stoked about its release. Why? Well that will explain our second trailer. Director of Boondock Saints and now the sequel, Troy Duffy is a complete douche bag! I don’t care how he would like to spin it, but if you can go online to Amazon and buy a copy of Overnight (the documentary of the making of the first Boondock Saints) you’ll see why. It has all the answers to your questions of why it took so long for the sequel to get made and why he’s never made anything since. Two words; black listed. And with good reason as far as we’re concerned although this trailer doesn’t do a very good job of showing it. So our second trailer for the evening is for Overnight, check it out, it’s an eye opener.
The first trailer is for All Saints Day, the long anticipated sequel to Boondock Saints. We can front on Duffy all we want, but the first movie is pretty undeniable and the sequel has been long coming and will finally appear in theatres by the end of the month! The boys, Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flannery return with their dad, Billy Connelly along side some new faces for the franchise. The beautiful Julie Benz will take the place of Willem Dafoe‘s character from the first film and she’ll be joined by the coolest cat Peter Fonda and the incomparable Judd “freaking” Nelson! Yeah, baby! This trailer is prefaced by Duffy himself who seems to have learned something from his first experiences at least and seems somewhat humbled although I’m quite sure it’s an act and he’s just learned how to properly do the dog and pony show this time around.
Now I’m sure if he reads this, he’ll have a few thoughts about what we’ve said here that will include the word cocksuckers, but hey, watch Overnight and then consider the source.
